Membership Aspirations (tick to commit)

As Members at Kilsyth Community Church, we commit to a set of aspirations about the kind of life we believe God wants of a local church community like ours.

BELONGING - We belong to Jesus and the family of believers at KCC. We aspire to live out the ‘one-another's’ of the New Testament

WELCOMING - We aspire to welcome one another as God has welcomed us into his family

GATHERING - We aspire to meet with our church family as a high priority in our lives

CARING - We aspire to be loving and caring towards God’s family, giving of the time, energy, and abilities God has given us

SERVING - We aspire to serve one another as a response to Christ, who came “not to be served, but to serve” (Matt. 20:28)

FOLLOWING - We aspire to follow the leaders that God has put in place at KCC as we follow Jesus, our Chief Shepherd

GIVING - We aspire to give generously to KCC as an act of worship

MULTIPLYING - We aspire to regularly share the Gospel with the communities we find ourselves in

Membership Commitments

I have dedicated my life to Jesus, and I commit to continue to grow in my love for God with all my heart, soul, and strength. I also commit to my KCC Community in these 4 areas:

1. I commit to regularly attending Sunday services at KCC.

There are times when all of us are away, but members are here whenever possible and they are active participants in Sunday worship. This involves joining in the worship, prayer, and fellowship on Sunday Mornings.

2. I commit to being a faithful part of a KCC Community Group.

Jesus has commissioned us to make disciples, who make disciples, who make disciples. At KCC, we recognise that discipleship is intentional, and doesn’t just happen on its own. We believe everyone Jesus brings us (Christian or not), should be discipled and trained to know how to disciple others. We believe being a disciple, and learning how to disciple people through the Word of God, is a core commission for our Church. Our members are committed to the KCC Discipleship pathway*. We understand that our small group structure is in development, however members are committed to being participants and champions of this process.

3. I commit to serve alongside the Church.

Members don’t just come to church, they serve alongside our Church. Serving can be as simple as praying for our Church, coming to prayer meetings, welcoming people, or as involved as working with the youth, volunteering with kids, or joining the prayer ministry team. As part of our Church, God has brought you here for several reasons and one of them is to serve the people of the Church and those we are trying to reach.

4. I commit to give generously from our finances to the work of God in KCC as an act of worship.

Our members believe in the work and ministry of KCC, and are highly committed to financially supporting our Church and its mission. The Bible has much to say about offerings and giving money. Including encouraging us to cheerful generosity. With that heart and as you feel led by God, we encourage you to give your first and best, as an act of surrender and worship to God.

To complete your application for membership, please indicate that you have read and agreed to the Personal Information Code of Practice and type your name as a signature for the form. A member of staff will contact you via e-mail within the next few weeks to approve your application or discuss membership with you further. Please note that you are able to discontinue membership at any point - just let us know in writing.
